Welcome to FAFOJC, INC.

Let’s start the conversation about our young folks in Haiti. According to DataReportal and UN Dept. of Economic and Social Affairs, World Population Prospects: The 2024 Revision, half of the population of Haiti is under the age of 24, with 36.2% still under 15, 13.1% between the ages of 18 and 24. The median age is 24.1 years old. These statistics make the country particularly vulnerable to social unrest and political upheaval.

However, a short conversation with our youth will reveal unrepentant dreamers who still want to keep their hope, their optimism high for a brighter future in a country still torn into pieces by political instability, gang violence, and profound uncertainty. The constant psychological pressure of their day-to-day routine makes them highly vulnerable to the recruiting efforts of gangs, whose ranks they could easily join out of desperation to survive, or they can try to escape through the perilous forests of Central America to migrate to the promised land of the United States.

The central government, not being in a position to provide adequately for the furtherance of their education or to offer them opportunities to thrive in sport or contribute to the flourishing of the culture of the land, we at FAFOJC are today appealing to your benevolence to help us keep their hope alive. 

With your support, this challenge is not unsurmountable. We greatly need you to fulfill this implausible commitment of us to digitize the municipal library of Les Cayes, which will be a great gift particularly to the pupils of the 274 secondary schools of the Greater South.
